A tight 5: February 17

CHANNEL Five is to make a TV show detailing how Robin Williams took his own life. A spokesperson for the broadcaster told Chortle: 'Yes, we are filming the programme but have no further comment to make.'

CONAN O'BRIEN has recorded an episode of his TBS talk show in Cuba – the first time such a programme has come from the island since the United States imposed its economic embargo in 1962. It comes after President Barack Obama announced a thaw in relations with its Communist neighbour in December.

FRANKIE BOYLE has published a 2,000-word article about the state of the media and the concept of 'offence'. Are some of us really morally superior because we don't like Top Gear?' Read the piece in full on his website

REECE SHEARSMITH and Jessica Hynes are to guest star in The Casebook of Max And Ivan for Radio 4. They will appear in episodes to be recorded next week, following Matt Lucas and June Whitfield who appeared in the shows already recorded.

MODERN FAMILY has shot an episode entirely on iPhones, and iPads – and will take place entirely on computer screens. Co-creator Steve Levitan said he was inspired to adopt the unusual technique because families largely communicate via screens now. The show – which Levitan insists is not about product placement – airs in the States on February 25.
