Comic fronts C4 quiz Benchmark

Paddy McGuinness is to front a new Channel 4 daytime gameshow.

The comic and Take Me Out presenter will host Benchmark, in which contestants compete against each other with the aid of a panel from the public.

The so-called benchmarkers will answer several tricky numerical questions, with contestants deciding whether the correct answer is higher, lower or the same as their answer, trade magazine Broadcast reports.

Stuart Shawcross from Victory Television, who devised the format, told the publication: ‘“Benchmark is an incredibly simple, but hugely entertaining game show that will have you shouting at your TV.’
