A tight 5: September 22

RECORDING dates have been announced for the second series of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer's sitcom House Of Fools. All the key supporting cast – Daniel Simonsen as Bob’s surly son Erik, Morgana Robinson as flirtatious neighbour Julie, Matt Berry as the ostentatious lothario Beef, and Dan Skinner as the thuggish Bosh – all set to return. STILL with Dan Skinner, his alter-ego Angelos Epithemiou has launched a new podcast with Barry from Watford, the character created by Alex Lowe familiar to radio listeners. The first episode was released on Friday, and the pair discussed the results of the Scottish referendum, announced earlier that day. Listen and subscribe here.

STEPHEN FRY and Paul Kaye, the former Dennis Pennis star, have joined the cast of Tomorrow, a British film about the difficulties soldiers encounter as they try to reintegrate back into society that has Martin Scorsese as an executive producer. Production started in London today.

MORECAMBE and Wise show Eric and Little Ern is returning to the London stage this Christmas. The show, written and performed by Ian Ashpitel and Jonty Stephens, will run at the St James Theatre from December 16 until January 11.

AN UNBROADCAST pilot of a spoof Western series created by long-time Simpsons writer John Swartzwelder has been posted online. Pistol Pete, starring Stephen Kearney, was made in 1996, but never made it to air. Here it is:
