BBC poised for a second series

Michael McIntyre says his BBC One chat show will be returning for a second series.

The comic’s official Twitter feed announced to its 1million followers over the weekend that the programme would ‘return later in the year’.

Critical reaction to the show has been mixed, with many reviewers slating the comedians’s shallow interview techniques. But BBC chiefs are thought to be pleased with the 2.2million viewers the show has attracted, including those watching up to seven days after broadcast.

The first series of six shows ends tonight, with guests including James Corden and Sir Bruce Forsyth.
