Sky Atlantic buys Silicon Valley comedy

Sky Atlantic has bought the rights to the new US comedy Silicon Valley, from King Of The Hill creator Mike Judge.

The show is inspired by Judge’s own experiences as a software engineer in the late 1980s and is described as ‘Entourage for geeks’.

He collaborated with Seinfeld writer Alec Berg to create the eight-part series, which launches on HBO next week and will air on Sky Atlantic in the summer.

The action is set in a a start-up company set up by programmer friends played by Thomas Middleditch, Josh Brener, Martin Star and Kumail Nanjiani, while T.J. Miller plays a dotcom millionaire.
