KELLY BROOK is set to land her first major role on American TV. The model, presenter and actress is to be one of the leads in the NBC pilot One Big Happy, playing a character described as a 'sexy Mary Poppins'. The show is about a lesbian and her straight male best friend, who are trying to have a baby together. They succeed just as the man impulsively marries Prudence – the flighty character to be played by Brook – before she is deported back to the UK.

AMERICAN comic Erich McElroy has stepped into the breach to deliver an anti-independence stance at the Mibbes Aye, Mibbes Naw show at the Glasgow Comedy festival tomorrow afternoon. Organisers of the event at The Stand had been left in the lurch when an unnamed pro-union comedian pulled out – and although they have been unable to find a Scottish act to speak up for the 'no' campaign, McElroy has Scottish parentage and is writing a show on the referendum from a pro-UK perspective.

EDDIE IZZARD has sold out two work-in-progress gigs at London's Soho Theatre in under ten minutes this afternoon. Demand for the shows on Monday and Wednesday crashed the venue's website, leaving those wanting tickets with a 15-minute wait in line.

FREDDIE STARR has been re-bailed again over allegations of historic sexual offences, this time until May 6. His lawyer said the delays were a 'flagrant breach of his human rights', saying that all investigations had now been completed and that any charging decisions were being held back because of the ongoing Max Clifford, and forthcoming Rolf Harris cases. Starr was originally arrested in November 2012 and has always denied the claims.

DREAM THEMES, who started life as Frank Sidebottom's backing group, the Oh Blimey Big Band, are releasing a double single on Monday, based on their versions of the News At Ten and BBC Ten O’Clock News themes, priced at £1.58 for both, totalling a massive 42 seconds between them. Here theory are:
