Only Fools And Horses revived for Sport Relief sketch

Del Boy and Rodney Trotter are to return for the first time in more than a decade.

The BBC has confirmed that David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst will return for a sketch to air on Sport Relief night in March.

A BBC spokeswoman said: 'There are plans afoot for a short Only Fools and Horses sketch. Further details will be announced in the build up to the appeal night on March 21.'

It will be the show's first outing since the 2003 Christmas special, Sleepless in Peckham, and the first since writer John Sullivan died, at the age of 64, in 2011.

Last month, Sir David revealed that Sullivan's sons Dan and Jim had turned one of his unfilmed ideas into a script, which he was considering. It's not clear if this is the Sport Relief sketch or a full new episode.

He told The Times: 'I've had a quick look at the treatment and it's very good, but I'm saving the proper read-through until there are no distractions. It's not the sort of thing you can muck about with.'

Sir David, 73, revived another classic sitcom role this Christmas, playing Granville in the Still Open All Hours special.
