LIVE IN LONDON: The Royal Free Rocks With Laughter benefit is the very definition of star-studded, featuring Rowan Atkinson, Jo Brand, Julian Clary, Harry Enfield, Harry Hill, The League of Gentlemen, Matt Lucas, Lee Mack, Mitchell & Webb, Tim Vine, Paul Whitehouse and more. Taking place on World Aid Day, it’s raising money for the London hospital’s immunity and transplantation unit that targets chronic infections, such as HIV.

LIVE IN LONDON: Most of our Christmas traditions come from Germany, so who better than that nation’s self-styled comedy ambassador to lead the festivities? Henning Wehn hosts an ‘Authentic German Christmas Do’ at the Leicester Square Theatre tonight, and the next two Sundays.

LIVE IN LONDON: Theatrical comedy troupe Spymonkey revive their 'deliciously demented gothic thriller' Cooped – full of melodramatic over-acting, for a four-night run at Leicester Square Theatre.

LIVE IN BATH: If you’re not suffering from Dr Who overkill, Toby Hadoke brings My Son Stole My Sonic Screwdriver his show about the show – and his own life – to the Rondo Theatre tonight.

Friday December 6

LIVE IN LONDON: How can you not be intriguied by Rich Fulcher And His Fucked Up Friends, which has allegedly been ‘compared to a melange of freshly washed groins.’ Guests on his late-night weirdfest include Tom Meeten, Pajama Men’s Shenoah Allen, Gary Le Strange, Dan Clark and the Creepy Magic of Pete Heat. Soho Theatre, 11pm

Saturday December 7

LIVE IN LONDON: Like so many comics, it’s an acting role that has propelled Bill Burr to prominence, thanks to his role as Kuby, one of the henchmen in Breaking Bad. But cognoscenti have long known him as an acerbic stand-up – and it’s that which he brings to The Forum today and tomorrow; and Vicar Street, Dublin on Monday.

LIVE IN LONDON: A strong and varied bill at the Union Chapel is headlined with one-line tsar Milton Jones, with enthusiastic activism from Josie Long, self-deprecating camp from Joe Lycett and the strange character comedy of Colin Hoult – all held together by MC Colin Hoult.
