RICKY GERVAIS's next gig as David Brent sold out in 30 seconds this morning. Demand for the December 16 show caused the website of the Colston Hall in Bristol to go down. Gervais tweeted to his fans: 'Thank you for trying and sorry if you didn't manage to get in this time. You're the best.'

ITV SITCOM Vicious is to be shown in America next year. Public broadcaster PBS has snapped up the six-part series featuring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi to air next year.

SIMON PEGG and Edgar Wright are to host two fan screenings of The World's End in London to mark its release on DVD. They will be at the Cineworld Haymarket on November 23 and at the Prince Charles Cinema in Leicester Square the following day as part of a Three Flavours Cornetto triple-bill, also including Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz.

FRANK SKINNER has announced a month-long residency at the Leicester Square Theatre in London from January 21. Tickets, priced £20 plus booking fee, went on sale today here.
