Two new sketch series for R4

...featuring familiar circuit names

Radio 4 has commissioned two sketch series starring familiar comedy circuit names.

Mike Wozniak, Henry Paker, Daniel Rigby and Sara Pascoe star in the new four-part show Small Scenes.

And Jigsaw, featuring Dan Antopolksi, Tom Craine and Nat Luurtsema has been commissioned for a second series.

Small Scenes, which starts on October 22, follows a pilot episode which went out in January.

Meanwhile Jigsaw, pictured, will return, though a Radio 4 spokesman could only say that it was likely sometime next year.

The news was confirmed on Twitter by its stars. Antopolksi tweeted: ‘I am proud to announce that Jigsaw have been given a second Radio 4 series!’

Craine added: ‘Delighted to announce that @JigsawComedy have been given a 2nd series by @BBCRadio4! Whoop etc!’

And Luurtsema said: ‘Hello Jigsaw second Radio 4 series! You look nice.’

The three stand-ups formed the group for the 2011 Edinburgh Fringe, and their first six-part series aired on Radio 4 in February and March this year.
