WTF: Weekly Trivia File

Jo Brand is to make her pantomime debut, starring as the Genie in Aladdin at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London. The cast also includes Matthew Kelly as Widow Twanky, street dancers Flawless and and David Bedella, who played Satan in Jerry Springer: The Opera. It opens on December 6.

BBC TWO's Olympic satire Twenty Twelve has been named best TV sitcom at the Freesat awards. Judges said it was 'built on great writing, is greatly observed and gets the tone absolutely right'.

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT could be returning for a fifth series, with producer Brian Grazer saying he’s ‘in conversations’ with Netflix about another run. ‘They are interested in doing that,’ he told Bloomberg Television, but any deal is thought to be a long way from being signed.

ADRIAN EDMONDSON has joined the production of Neville’s Island being staged at the Theatre in the Park in Chichester this summer. He will star alongside Rufus Hound in the play, about an outward bound team-building exercise gone wrong, which runs from September 11 to 18.

TWO And A Half Men is to introduce a regular gay character. Writers are to add the recurring role of Jenny, the 21-year-old illegitimate daughter of the late Charlie Harper, who was played by Charlie Sheen. It is believed the character will partly be a replacement for Angus T. Jones – who plays young Jake – whose screen time is to be sharply cut after he publicly criticised the show as ‘filth’ on a religious show last year. The new role has not yet been cast but producers say the character is – surprise, surprise – ‘ sexy and gorgeous’.
