Miranda up for two TV Choice Awards

For sitcom and Call The Midwife

Miranda Hart is up for two accolades in this year’s TV Choice Awards.

Her self-titled sitcom is up for best comedy, while she is in the running for best actress for her role as Chummy in Call The Midwife.

Also nominated for best comedy are Mrs Brown’s Boys, Not Going Out and Jack Whitehall’s school sitcom Bad Education.

And in the entertainment category, Russell Howard’s Good News has been shortlisted alongside Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Celebrity Juice and The Graham Norton Show.

The awards are, strictly speaking, popularity contests as they are decided by viewers’ votes. Polls close on July 12.

They will be awarded at The Dorchester Hotel, London, on September 9, at an event hosted by Ben Miller.
