BBC Three buys more Family Guy

...and Wilfred, too

BBC Three has snapped up new series of Family Guy and the Elijah Wood sitcom Wilfred.

The broadcaster has brought the rights to air the 11th series of the animated show before anyone else, industry website TV Wise reports, with plans to air it this summer.

The season started on Fox in September, and runs in the States until May. Guest stars over the run include e J. J. Abrams, Sandra Bernhard, Dan Castellaneta, Sharon Osbourne and Johnny Depp.

BBC Three will also air series three of Wilfred this summer.

In the show, which originated in Australia before being remade for the US, Wood plays a man who sees his neighbour’s pet dog as a surly bloke, played by series co-creator Jason Gann.

The original ran for only two series, but the third American version starts on the FX channel next month.
