Al Murray plans Pub Landlord movie

Script already written

Al Murray is planning a Pub Landlord movie.

The comic says he has a script already written for a big-screen adventure; and is trying to find backers.

He told The Sun: ‘I’d love to do a Pub Landlord film — in fact there’s a script and some stuff already written.

‘But with movies, you have to go and find someone who wants to make it. I guess it’s “in development”.

‘With most projects I always think that until it’s in the bargain bin of a service station for £1, it hasn’t actually happened.’

If he could get the project off the ground, he would be following in the footsteps of Alan Partridge, Keith Lemon and Harry Hill, who has just started shooting his film. Murray started the Pub Landlord persona in Hill’s 1994 Edinburgh show.

He was speaking to promote his new digital radio show on Planet Rock, which starts this Sunday.
