So this is IT?

IT Crowd finale to film soon

Filming on The IT Crowd finale is due to begin later this month, its creator Graham Linehan has confirmed.

Chris O'Dowd, Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson and Matt Berry are all expected to return for the farewell 40-minute episode to wrap up the Channel 4 sitcom.

The writer first announced plans for a final special in December, after stating that the show would not return for a full fifth series.

He penned the script more than a year ago, but it has taken this long to get the increasingly successful cast together.

O’Dowd, who is about to star in the Christopher Guest series Family Tree, has previously said that the IT Crowd characters ‘needed closure’, adding: ‘I don’t think we said goodbye to them properly.’

Linehan announced the news that filming was due to start within three weeks at the re:publica digital conference in Berlin, the Bleeding Cool website reports.

The writer also announced that Count Arthur Strong, the BBC Two sitcom he has been working on with character creator Steve Delaney, is expected to launch in June.
