The Mimic makes a second impression

C4 orders another series

Channel 4 has ordered a second series of The Mimic.

The show stars impressionist Terry Mynott as a janitor who has an uncanny ability to copy voices, who suddenly discovers he has an 18-year-old son.

The first five-part series, which aired on Wednesdays in March and Aprul at 10pm, attracted an average 1.3million viewers when consolidated over all viewing platforms.

It was written by Russell Brand’s former writing partner Matt Morgan and produced by Running Bare Pictures, the production company Mynott’s agent John Noel.

Noel told trade website Broadcast: ‘We are very happy with the recommission of The Mimic. The series is a testament to Channel 4’s commitment to nurturing new talent – both in front of the camera and behind.’
