Stephen Fry to star in superhero sitcom

With Harry Potter star Rupert Grint

Stephen Fry is set to star in his own US sitcom, alongside Harry Potter star Rupert Grint.

They will appear in a pilot episode of a planned new CBS show called Super Clyde, about a meek fast food worker who decides to become a superhero.

Grint – best known for playing Ron Weasley – will take the role of Clyde; Fry will be his sidekick, Randolph, the butler.

The show is being written by Greg Garcia, who previously created My Name Is Earl, Hollywood website Deadline reports.

The move could make Fry as big a name in the States as his former double-act parter Hugh Laurie, who achieved fame with House.

Earlier this week Fry was mobbed by the media in St Petersburg, where he met homophobic politician Vitaly Milonov for a two-part TV documentary, Out There, about being gay across the globe.
