They're having a Lafta

Comics and celebs shortlisted for Loaded awards

Loaded magazine have announced their nominees for their annual Lafta comedy awards – with the usual mix of comics and celebrities.

The shortlist includes Olly Murs, X-Factor contestant Rylan, hardman actor Danny Dyer and footballer Joey Barton.

Up for funniest male comedian are stand-ups Frankie Boyle, Harry Hill, Jason Manford, Micky Flanagan and Sean Lock.

Yet in the tautologically titled funniest female comedienne category, only one is a stand-up, Sarah Millican. The rest are actresses Jessica Hynes, Kimberley Nixon and Zawe Ashton, and impressionist Morgana Robinson.

There is, however, a separate category for funniest stand-up – which has no overlap with the funniest comedian nominees.

Shortlisted in this category are Kevin Bridges, Jon Richardson, Michael McIntyre, Paul Chowdhry, Ross Noble.

Other categories include funniest podcast, funniest columnist and funniest tweeter.

In the last category, comics Chris Ramsey and Frankie Boyle go up against Danny Dyer, Joey Barton and Ted, the feed linked to the film of the same name.
