Reeves and Mortimer win British Comedy Award

Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are among the winners at tonight’s British Comedy Awards.

They will will be awarded The Writer's Guild of Great Britain Award at the ceremony, to be aired live on Channel 4.

Mortimer said: ‘I'm really proud that Jim and I have always written our own guff. It's great to have that recognised.’

Reeves added: ‘I am most cock-a-hoop over being awarded this most prestigious of trophies.’

They are the only winners to be announced ahead of the ceremony, which starts at 9pm. Jonathan Ross will again be hosting, while award presenters will include Cuba Gooding Jr, Kelly Brook and Joan Collins.
