BBC Scotland viewers to decide which comedy show kicks off 2013

BBC Scotland is letting its viewers decide which comedy show kicks off its 2013 programming.

Sitcoms and sketch shows spanning six decades are up for the BBC One Scotland slot immediately following the Hogmanay celebrations.

They are:

1. Burnistoun
2. Chewin’ The Fat
3.City Lights
4. Gary Tank Commander
5. The High Life
6. The Karen Dunbar Show
7. Naked Video
8. Scotch & Wry
9. The Stanley Baxter Show
10. The Vital Spark

Voting takes place online and will close at midnight on December 27. The results will be announced on Fred MacAulay’s Radio Scotland show on New Year’s Eve.

Ewan Angus, commissioning editor for BBC Scotland said: ‘It will be a tough choice as there have been so many great comedies down the years and right up to the present day. There’ll be some lively debate about which show should get the slot.’
