Cardinal Burns vs Hunderby

Broadcast nominees announced

Cardinal Burns and Hunderby have both been nominated for two categories in this year’s Broadcast Awards.

Both the E4 sketch show and Julia Davis’s Sky Atlantic period comedy have been shortlisted for best comedy and best mulichannel programme in the accolades, organised by the TV industry magazine.

Also shortlisted for best comedy are Fresh Meat, Mrs Brown’s Boys, Rev and Twenty Twelve.

While other nominees in the multichannel category are the sitcoms Him & Her and Threesome, plus Celebrity Juice and Dynamo: Magician Impossible.

The latter two are also up for the best entertainment programme alongside Britain’s Got Talent, Take Me Out, BBC Three’s The Revolution Will Be Televised and Derren Brown The Experiments: The Assassin.

Holy Flying Circus, the BBC Four docu-comedy about Monty Python’s blasphemy battle over Life Of Brian has been shortlisted for best original programme.

Winners will be announced in London on January 30.
