Revealed: Peter Kay's next DVD

It's an interview with Danny Baker

Peter Kay’s DVDs are a lucrative business – so he isn’t going to let a small thing like not having a new tour stop him releasing another one.

His next release will be an interview between himself and Danny Baker, chatting about his career from stand-up, to Phoenix Nights to Britain’s Got The Pop Factor.

The interview will be recorded i at the Blackpool Opera House next month – Kay’s only live appearance of the year – in front of an audience who have paid £35 to £45 a head.

It will be filmed for broadcast as well as subsequent DVD release.

Kay said: ‘I was thrilled when Danny asked me as I’ve never done a interview like this before and I’ve always admired his work.

‘He’s a very funny, clever man and I’m sure it’s going to be a special show and definitely a night to remember.’

Baker and Kay are friends, with the comedian having appeared in a spoof of Baker’s old ‘doorstep challenge’ washing powder ads and appearing occasionally as a guest on his radio show. Their talk will take place at 8pm on October 20.

Kay has previously been slammed by fans for releasing DVDs of repackaged material, already available on other discs, while his Tour That Didn’t Tour DVD was the biggest-selling stand-up title last year.
