Details have been revealed of a new film from Curb Your Enthusiasm maestro Larry David.
In Clear History, David plays to type as a petty man humiliated after an argument – then becoming hell-bent on revenge.
His character, Nathan Flomm, stormed out of the start-up electric car company he worked for after a row with his boss – giving up his 10 per cent stock which goes on to be worth billions.
Ten years on, he lives a simple life on a small island – where his former boss shows up to renovate his summer mansion, prompting Flomm to plot reprisals.
The cast named today also includes Kate Hudson, Michael Keaton, Man Men star Jon Hamm (who will play David’s nemesis), The Wire’s Amy Ryan and Curb regular JB Smoove.
Production on the film – being made by HBO – is to begin this autumn in Massachusetts. Greg Mottola, who made the Simon Pegg film Paul, is directing and executive producing.
David has not yet decided whether to make a ninth series of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
