Matt LeBlanc sitcom gets third series

Matt LeBlanc sitcom Episodes is to return for a third series.

The Showtime network, which airs the show in America, has confirmed that another nine episodes will be made next year.

The show stars Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig as writers of a hit British sitcom, dismayed at how they are having to remake it for Hollywood.

The second series averaged just under one million viewers for BBC Two when it aired in May and June this year. In the States, viewing figures did not top 500,000 on first airing, but taking all platforms into account, it averaged 1.6million viewers.

Production on the new season will begin in Los Angeles and London early next year.

The show is a co-production between US sitcom kings David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik, and Britain’s Hat Trick Productions, headed by Jimmy Mulville.
