New show from Lee Nelson creator

BBC Three wants more characters

Lee Nelson creator Simon Brodkin has landed a new BBC Three series that will showcase some of his other creations.

The six-part series will feature Nelson alongside footballer character Jason Bent; the star of reality show The Only Way is Macclesfield; the Geordie Kitchen, and Club DJ.

Provisionally titled Well Funny People, the half-hour episodes will be filmed on location, as opposed to the studio audience of Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show.

Chris Sussman, the executive producer for the BBC, said: ‘Simon has come up with some brilliant new characters that poke fun at all parts of modern, multicultural Britain,’ said.

The show, being made by Avalon Television, will air this winter.
