John Bishop immortalised

Wembley honour for Sport Relief efforts

John Bishop has been honoured at Wembley Stadium, with a stone marking his achievements in raising £4million for Sport Relief.

The comic was at the unveiling on Wembley Way on Saturday – before watching his beloved Liverpool lose the FA Cup Final 2-1 to Chelsea.

He said: ‘This year has been a whirlwind and to be named alongside some absolute legends and be honoured by Wembley Stadium is unbelievable.’

In February Bishop cycled, rowed and ran the 290 miles from Paris to London in five days, raising the seven-figure sum for charity.

Several footballing legends have already been immortalised in the Wembley Way stones, but they are also available for ordinary fans to leave messages relating to the stadium.
