In the steps of Marco Polo

Sky confirms new Idiot Abroad details

Sky has confirmed the commission of the latest in Ricky Gervais’s An Idiot Abroad series.

As has been widely reported already, The Short Way Round will feature Karl Pilkington travelling with Life’s Too Short star Warwick Davis.

But it has now been revealed that the two-hour long shows will feature the pair following Marco Polo’s voyage from Italy to China.

Pilkington said: ‘I don't know how it will work out. Honestly. Edmund Hillary had that Tenzing fella, Ben Fogle had James Cracknell. I've been given an Ewok.’

Gervais added: ‘Karl once said to me that opposites attract. Warwick Davis is sociable, hardworking and never complains. They should get along fine.’

The shows will air on Sky 1 in December.
