Tim Minchin joins Californication

As a 'coked up rock star'

Tim Minchin is to play a ‘coked-up rock star’ in the next series of Californication.

The recurring role is that of Atticus Fetch, who David Duchovny’s character, writer Hank Moody, works with to turn one of his novels into a Broadway musical.

Fitch, described by industry website Deadline.com as ‘mad as a hatter’ promises Moody that they can run his book God Hates Us All into a rock opera about ‘love conquering all’.

The series is set to air early next year on US cable station Showtime.

It is also rumoured that Minchin’s opening scene will involve quite a lot of flesh.

Minchin follows fellow comic Jim Tavare into the show – with the British stand-up playing Alfred, butler to the Wu Tang Clan’s RZA in the last series.
