Louis CK's sitcom to be made – 13 years after he wrote it

A sitcom written by stand-up Louis CK has been commissioned – 13 years after he came up with the idea.

He and co-creator Spike Feresten – who was on the writing team of Seinfeld at the time – first came up with the script for Boomtown under a development deal with CBS at the tail end of last century.

But the network passed, and the script forgotten.

However now, with CK winning acclaim for his show Louis on the FX cable channel, CBS has revived the idea.

Hollywood industry website Deadline reports that pair rewrote their script, which has led to the new pilot being commissioned.

In the process, the show – which was originally based on CK and his real-life friends – has lost its title, and has yet to find a new name.
