All the surviving Pythons are set to reunite for a new film, directed by Terry Jones.

Jones aid of the science fiction movie Absolutely Anything: 'It's not a Monty Python picture, but it certainly has that sensibility.'

He added that John Cleese, Terry Gilliam and Michael Palin were already on board and he hoped to sign Eric Idle.

According to Hollywood trade magazine Variety, the Pythons will provide the voice of a group of aliens who endow an earthling with incredible powers, in an experiment to see what a mess he'll make of things. The film will also feature a talking dog called Dennis, to be voiced by Robin Williams.

Life Of Brian producer Mike Medavoy is also working on the project, which he described as a 'classic farce'.

The last time the five Pythons appeared together was to receive a Bafta special award in New York in 2009.
