Outumbered return is on the cards

...despite fears of its child star

Outnumbered is set to return for another series – despite one of its child stars claiming the show was likely to end.

Last month, Tyger Drew-Honey, who plays Jake, said the sitcom might only return for one-off specials as he and his junior co-stars were getting too old.

He said: ‘I think they don't want to dive in and do a whole series because it might not work with the kids getting older.’

However, BBC Television's Head of Communications Sam Hodges has today denied the rumour, saying plans are well advanced for a fifth series.

Taking to his personal Twitter account, he said: ‘Outnumbered fans - contrary to reports, talks are already under way regarding a new series on BBC One.’

The Christmas Day Outnumbered attracted more than 8million viewers.
