McIntyre's millions

Michael makes £5m in two years

Michael McIntyre has earned more than £5million in just two years, according to papers lodged at Companies House.

The sum means he has paid off the £3.2million mortgages on his six-bedroom Hampstead mansion, and has £1.6million sitting in his bank account.

It was made for his business Buddywaldo through the sale of DVDs, books, and tour tickets – and will be swelled further when he embarks on another arena tour later this year.

The figures represent a major reversal of fortune for McIntrye, who racked up huge debts while struggling to make his name in comedy.

He once said: ‘I was right up to my neck. I was £40,000 in debt — credit card loans, all that, with absolutely no assets and often no way of meeting the rent. It was at the point where they were cutting up my credit cards in front of me in the shops.’
