It's Lee £vans

Comic 'to make £8m' this year

Lee Evans will earn £8million this year, according to reports.

The vast majority will come from his Roadrunner arena tour, which sold more than 700,000 tickets.

The DVD of that show was released on Monday and is challenging Peter Kay to be the top-selling title this Christmas. It likely to sell around 500,000 copies over the month.

And his autobiography The Life of Lee has topped the bestseller list, selling almost 100,000 copies.

The Mirror calculates all this adds up to £8million in 2011.

Evans will be vying for the position of best-paid comic with Peter Kay, whose last set of accounts showed he made £5million from stand-up – but did not include much of his recent tour or this Christmas’s DVD sales.
