Tim Minchin turns down Pepsi ad

'It's so easy to say no'

Tim Minchin has turned down a lucrative offer to front an advertising campaign for Pepsi.

The Australian musical comedian has revealed that he rejected the big-money offer as he didn’t want to compromise his integrity, or his own ‘brand’ image.

In an interview with The Independent today, the 36-year-old said: ‘You'll never see me advertising a product.

‘Pepsi just asked me and it's so easy to say no. Do I want to sell Pepsi? No, I want to sell my ideas.’

However Minchin said: ‘I'm not scared of the idea that my work is a business and that my image is a brand.’

Artists who have previously advertised Pepsi include David Bowie, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears.
