Johnny Vegas's book delayed

...because he hasn't finished writing it

Johnny Vegas’s autobiography has been delayed for a year – because the comic struggled to get it finished on time.

The title, Becoming Johnny Vegas, had been due out this month, but now HarperCollins has put it off until this time next year.

It tells the story of how he transformed from Michael Pennington into his stage persona.

He told trade paper The Bookseller: ‘It's proving far more complex than a straightforward autobiography. I'm sorry if I underestimated that at the start of the writing but I'm finding the process both fascinating and genuinely enlightening and I believe it's worth the wait to get this right.’

HarperCollins is also publishing the autobiography of John Bishop next autumn.
