Sky Arts to air Onion News Network

Satire to air from November

Sky Arts is to air The Onion’s satirical TV show after striking an exclusive deal with an international distributor.

The Onion News Network is parody of 24-hour networks such as Fox News, and is spin-off from The Onion satirical magazine and website. It began as a series of online clips but was made into a programme for the IFC network in the States this year.

Sky Arts director James Hunt said: ‘Sky Arts is known for breaking new ground and Onion News Network is one of the best satire shows around.’

The ten-part series will air from November 26 at 11pm.

The digital channel has previously dipped its toe into cult comedy programming by airing classic Saturday Night Live episodes from the Seventies.
