Jackass Steve-O makes UK debut

Joining Bill Bailey at Sonisphere

Jackass star Steve-O is to make his British stand-up debut at the Sonisphere rock festival.

Bill Bailey will headline the comedy line-up at the festival in Knebworth, Hertfordshire, on July 8 to 10. He will play the main Saturn stage on Sunday night – before Headliners Slipknot change the pace.

The event will also see the UK debuts of a couple of American acts, including extreme stuntman Steve-O, playing the Bohemia entertainment tent.

The daredevil – real name Stephen Glover – has been performing reckless stunts since snatching a video camera from his father's closet when he was 15 to make home skateboarding videos. He was trained at Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Clown College, before being signed up by MTV for Jackass in 2000. The seires has since spawned three movies, while Steve-O has built his live stand-up show around anecdotes about his painful experiences.

Also making his British debut at Sonisphere is stand-up Jim Breuer, a formerSaturday Night Live cast member and star of the cult1998 stoner comedy movie Half Baked, alongside Dave Chappelle.

Also booked for the festival are rock-friendly comics Andrew O’Neill, Bob Slayer, Jason John Whitehead and Jason Rouse, plus Jarred Christmas, who will be compering on Saturday.

Musical Headliners include Metallica, Slayer, Biffy Clyro, Limp Bizkit, Motorhead and Sisters Of Mercy. Three-day weekend camping tickets cost £180. Click here to book.
