Jack pops up

C4 working on new vehicle for Whitehall

Jack Whitehall’s dominance of TV comedy looks to continue, with Channel 4 developing a new vehicle for the Stand Up For The Week star.

Hit The Road Jack is an comedy entertainment series that travels the country, featuring bands and comedians in a temporary ‘pop-up’ studio each week.

A pilot episode is due to be recorded at Festival Leisure Park in Basildon, Essex, on March 3.

Producers say: ‘This major entertainment event will be a mix of Jack's stand up, local celebrity guests, live music performances and larger than life local characters, celebrating the area and everything about it.’

At just 22, Whitehall has already been a regular on Channel 4’s Tonightly and TNT Show, and E4’s Big Brother’s Big Mouth, as well as Stand Up For The Week, which returns for a new series next month.

He has also appeared on just about every panel show going, including 8 Out of 10 Cats, You Have Been Watching, Ask Rhod Gilbert, Mock The Week, Would I Lie To You? and Never Mind the Buzzcocks.
