Harry Hill's our role model

Boys want to be just like him

Harry Hill has been named the top role model for boys in a survey of children.

He polled a quarter of the votes from the 1,800 seven-to-12-year-olds who were polled, narrowly beating David Beckham into second place.

Among girls, Cheryl Cole was the overwhelming favourite. The survey for Toxic and Go Girl also revealed that 'being famous' is the No 1 aspiration for girls, followed by ‘being happily married’. ‘Being funny’ came bottom of the list, with just three per cent of the vote.

Boys put ‘being rich’ as their top aspiration and ‘being funny’ fourth.

Go Girl editor Emma Prosser said: ‘Celebrities are hugely influential in today’s society. This study highlights the impact they have on children who aspire to be like them.’
