Frankie Boyle swears at 1.4m

Decent audience for Tramadol Nights

Channel 4’s new Tuesday-night comedy line-up attracted respectable, if not spectacular, audiences last night.

Frankie Boyle’s Tramadol Nights performed best, with 1.4 million viewers tuning in to his mix of sketches and stand-up.

Overnight figures supplied by Attentional show this was 6.5 per cent of the entire audience at 10pm; and just a shade better than the average audience Channel 4 usually gets for that slot.

It was immediately followed by The Morgana Show, featuring characters and impressions by newcomer Morgana Robinson, which lost almost half of Boyle’s audience.

It was seen by 778,000 viewers, or 5.2 per cent of the audience. However, that is only about ten per cent down on Channel 4’s usual audience for the slot.

Meanwhile Jo Brand’s NHS sitcom Getting On ended well, with 275,000 viewers, a strong showing for a BBC Four show at 10pm.
