Putting the comic in comic book

Stewart Lee writes a strip

Stewart Lee has written his own comic strip.

His story, called The Property, features in the fourth issue of Clint magazine, out on December 2. It is said to be about a comic-book fan driven to obsession.

The strip has been illustrated by Steve Yeowell, best known among aficionados for his work on 2000AD.

Frankie Boyle helped launch the magazine with his strip about a superhero called Rex Royd – coincidentally just one letter away from circuit act and street performer Rex Boyd. And Jimmy Carr is writing a strip due to appear in issue six of the magazine.

The news follows the release of an iPhone app this week featuring Simon Pegg as a crime-fighter.

Three years ago, Lee made a cameo appearance in the Incredible Hulk comic, when his poster featured in the background of a fight scene – possibly as a nod to his routine about interviewing Hulk director Ang Lee.
