Frank's fantastic DVD

Posthumous release for Sidebottom's cult TV show

Frank Sidebottom’s cult ITV show is to be released on DVD for the first time, in posthumous tribute to the papier-mache-headed comedian.

His Fantastic Shed Show aired in 1992, and also marked the TV debut of Caroline Aherne as Mrs Merton, Frank’s fictional next-door neighbour, alongside fellow regular Mark Radcliffe.

Their guests on the six-part show included Phil Cornwell, Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson, Midge Ure, Keith Emerson and Nicholas Parsons.

Sidebottom’s creator, Chris Sievey, died in June at the age of 54, after a short battle with cancer. An internet campaign to get Frank his first UK hit, resulted in Guess Who's Been on Match of the Day? Entering the charts at No. 66.

The new DVD, which also includes the pilot episode, will be released by Network on November 8. Click here to preorder from Amazon for £7.99.
