Bird flies back

Simon rejoins Inbetweeners movie

Simon Bird has reportedly started shooting the movie version of The Inbetweeners after accepting producers’ original pay deal.

The Sun had claimed that his agents had been holding out for more money, but backed down when a casting call went out seeking another actor to replace him.

The cast, also including Blake Harrison, James Buckley and Joe Thomas, have all flown out to the wild resort of Malia in Crete to start shooting. The plot of the film revolves around the show’s characters on holiday, having turned 18.

An unnamed source told the paper: ‘The original cast are all back together for the Inbetweeners film and have started work on the movie over in Crete. Simon is back on board and everyone's happy.’

The film is due out next year, while the Channel 4 show returns to TV next month.
