John Cleese to tour UK

Eight dates for 2010

John Cleese is to embark on his first ever UK tour next year.

The Fawlty Towers star kicks off the series of eight live shows in Cambridge in May 2011.

Called the Alimony Tour, he says they will help him pay off the estimated £12million cost of his divorce from third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger.

The show, which he has previously performed in Scandinavia, is billed as ‘an evening of well-honed anecdotes, psychoanalytical tit-bits, details of recent surgical procedures, and unprovoked attacks on dates are:

May 3: Cambridge Corn Exchange
May 10 and 11: Birmingham Hippodrome
May 24: Salford Lowry
May 31: Liverpool Empire
June 10: Edinburgh Festival Theatre
June 17: Oxford New Theatre
June 21: Bristol Hippodrome
