Emo-tional reunion

Philips returns to the UK

Emo Philips is returning to the UK this summer.

The quirky American comedian will headline the comedy tent at this year’s Latitude festival in Suffolk before performing a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He last appeared in Britain at the 2006 Newbury comedy festival and Latitude organisers say it was ‘a massive coup’ to get him.

Other acts playing the Suffolk festival from July 15 to 18 include Ardal O’Hanlon, Rich Hall, Tommy Tiernan, Richard Herring, Rich Fulcher, Mark Watson and David O’Doherty.

Meanwhile the Larmer Tree festival, which is held on the Wiltshire/Dorset border on the same weekend, has announced its comedy line-up, featuring many of the same acts. Rich Hall, David O’Doherty, Jason Cook and Pappy’s are among the comics appearing there.

Finally, Kevin Bridges has been named as the ‘special guest star’ at the Rock Ness festival in Scotland from June 11 to 13, which is being headlined by Blondie.
