Rik Mayall is releasing an unofficial England World Cup anthem Noble England, under the guise of Henry V.

There is no official squad song for the South Africa tournament, so Mayall is to release his patriotic – and self-aggrandising – version on St George’s Day, April 23.

‘Football, Shakespeare and Rik Mayall. Those are the three greatest cultural things that England has,’ he told Sky News, modestly.
