Gavin And Stacey 'will return'

Co-star's prediction

Gavin & Stacey will be coming back for another Christmas special, one of its stars has predicted.

Writers James Corden and Ruth Jones have previously insisted that the New Year's Day episode that ended the third series would be the last.

But ex-EastEnders star Larry Lamb, who plays Gavin's father Mick, has asserted: 'There will be a Christmas special.

'James and Ruth don't want to do another full series, but I would say almost certainly they will write a few speicals.

'I know the BBC don't want to let it go. It has moved from having cult status to something very mainstream and a big success.

'Viewers will want to know aht happens to all the characters,' he told the Daily Mail. 'There are lots of loose ends to tie up - how wil Gavin and Stacey cope with pregnancy, the birth and being parents, and do Smithy and Ness finally get together?

'I don't think anyone will just let things end there.'

The BBC confirmed that they would be keen to have further one-off episodes after the final instalment attracted 8.7 million viewers.
