Chubby on assault charges

Roy Chubby Brown is to face a charge of assaulting a woman in a Middlesbrough car park.

The 64-year-old is to appear before Teesside Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with common assault on September 2.

Brown – real name Royston Vasey –  had been due to appear before magistrates earlier this week, but the case was adjourned.

The Middlesbrough-born comic has not yet entered a plea to the charge.
