Kevin to play 10,000-seat SECC

Scottish comic Kevin Bridges – who performed in a tiny 50-capacity venue at this year's Edinburgh Fringe – is to play the 10,000-seater Glasgow SECC next year.

His hometown gig on May 28 will also be recorded for a DVD release by Universal Pictures in time for the 2010 Christmas market.

The 22-year-old has only been performing stand-up for five years, but sold out his festival debut following an appearance on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow on BBC One. The show earned him a nomination for best newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.

He will get further primetime BBC One exposure later this year when he appears in the new series of Live At The Apollo, which he recorded last week.

Both the televised stand-up showcases are made by Open Mike Productions, the sister company of comedy agent Off The Kerb, which represents Bridges.
