Ghoul reunion

League of gents stars reunited in horror

Reece Shearsmith is to be reunited with League Of Gentlemen co-star Mark Gatiss in a new radio series about horror.

Radio 4 has commissioned two episodes of Reece Shearsmith’s Haunted House to go out later this year.

Billed as ‘a series of energetic and witty illustrated discussions on horror’, the shows will be recorded in front of a live audience – inside the haunted Sutton House in East London.

Several spirits are said to haunt the building, including The Lady in Blue, a Tudor divorcee, and The Lady in White, the strict headmistress of an etiquette school that was based there in Victorian times.

However, would-be audience members for the show have been told: ‘This is not a ghost hunt, we are not looking to scare the audience - it is more of a look back at the history of various horror genres.’

Guests lined up for the show also include Vic Reeves and Most Haunted presenter Yvette Fielding, as well as Gatiss.

Meanwhile, Radio 4 has also commissioned a second series of the Lenny Henry sitcom Rudy’s Rare Records.
